As with urbanisation not all species are able to adapt to the altered habitat. However there are a few which fit very well into the disturbed habitat. Here are some of the post common birds most often seen in gardens and parks of Metro Vancouver.

These gooses are sometimes called the meanest Canadians in Canada and they are known to be aggressive especially during breeding season. These are not the only type of goose in Metro Vancouver with the most similar species being the cackling goose. The main difference between the two goose species being the size. These goose can be seen in almost any parks and often can be seen flying around downtown and the suburbs.

These two sparrow species are the most common birds in people's gardens. Thye can be easily seen in any garden and park and have adapted very well to an urban environment. Although these two birds look similar, they can be told apart and are different species.They key to tell them apart is that if you notice in the fox sparrow, it has a triangle shape pattern around the front body.
